Bali Street Dogs

Bali Dogs ...... homeless, hungry and hurt are left to fend for themselves and roam freely on the streets and beaches, around restaurants and in tourist areas. Their large numbers and extremely bad living conditions can create unpleasant environments for everyone, especially the dogs. These beautiful dogs are suffering. Education for the World

Education for the World, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt charitable organization based in California, which provides college scholarship money for women around the world, especially those with financial or other life challenges. Our current focus is in Bali, Indonesia. The original concept for Education for the World was formulated in 2006. While vacationing in Bali that year, the founder, Michael Ballinger, decided to use his own money to enroll the first two students. By 2007, Education for the World was officially incorporated and received tax-exempt status from the U.S. Internal Revenue Service. Within two years, the organization has expanded in both members and donors, who have collectively sponsored seven college students. Full sponsorship includes paying their tuition and costs for school supplies, and also providing them with a small monthly stipend. This allows the students to spend more time studying, instead of working. We believe that education is the gateway to wider opportunities and also to a higher standard of living. It is our hope that the initial effort becomes a self-sustaining process, in which those helped, go on to help others--making the world a better place, one student at a time.
